Rio Tinto Procurement is an inbound supply chain service organization which delivers value to Rio Tinto Group through sourcing and buying goods and services and by dispatching them where they will be used within Rio Tinto’s operations.
RTP carries out this mission with the help of a talented team using tools and uniform processes based on the best world practices. All these rules are grouped together in a document called "The way we buy", an essential practical guide on our policy and the procurement golden rules applicable to all. Compliance to good procurement practices for a company such as ours is a must.
To fulfill our mission within QMM in Madagascar, we attach an important consideration to our social integration through a sustainable economy, as well as to the commercial development of the region where we operate. The team leads and implements projects which influence in a significant way the outcome. It addresses all the existing operational aspects on our site. These procurement specialists are in charge of analyzing the market, managing one or several categories of purchases according to the specific needs of our internal customers.
They lead and participate in team projects to develop business plans, negotiate commercial agreements and manage contracts. Through the pre-qualification process and the evaluation of suppliers and in association with the payers, this team aims at bringing all our economic partners to the standards of Rio Tinto, for a win-win outcome.
